Rental Requirements

Rental requirements at Lazarus Car Hire:

1. Credit Card
2. RSA ID document or Passport
3. Drivers License

The above physical documents are needed on the rental start day or before hand

The Rental procedure and Information:

1. Book your desired vehicle with Lazarus Car Hire    (e-mail/telephone/online booking)
2. Receive communication from a rental agent to confirm your booking
3. Complete the detailed booking form and e-mail / fax back to LCH
4. A few days before the rental start date, your rental agent will do the security authorization on your credit card. This is only a hold on your card for the insurance excess amount applicable for the specific vehicle being rented. This hold will be active while the vehicle is with you and will be cancelled when the vehicle is returned in the same condition and the rental costs are paid in full.
5. The hold amount is indicated as 'Normal Remaining Excess' at the bottom of each individual vehicle page on the website.
6. Vehicle to be returned with a full fuel tank (full on delivery)

Additional and Optional costs:

• Standard contract fee (once off) = R40
• Additional driver (once off) = R171 per driver
• Cross border fee (once off) =  R1250
• Young driver surcharge (once off) = R150 per young driver (Young driver = having drivers lic. less than 3 years)
